The cigar is very well made and has a beautiful appearance: velvety to the touch, with a slight sheen and no veins on the wrapper. The wrapper is made of three impeccably rolled leaves. The compactness test concludes with good cigar firmness. The torcedores hand-roll each Epicure No. 1 using Vuelta Abajo tobacco leaves. Incidentally, this is a long filler puro.
Lovers of light Habanos will find pleasure in savoring Epicure No. 1, as it is a mild cigar with a medium development of its aromas. Before lighting, the wrapper gives off a scent of leather and hay. An earthy note develops at the foot. As a whole, the cigar concentrates a herbal tea taste and a fragrance of cedar and hay.
Ignition precedes a veritable enchantment. The 1st third is full of scents of varying intensity: hay, cedar, earth, walnut, leather, pepper, cocoa, sweet tea, charcoal. These same aromas are found in the 2nd third, but their intensity is modified. Two new scents make their appearance: lemon and clove. The cigar ends with dominant notes of tobacco, leather, cedar, earth and coffee.
